The following are requirements of all members, skating and nonskating, playing and nonplaying:

Must be minimum 18 years of age
Annually sign a waiver of participation and acknowledgment of risk of injury
Maintain current dues (see below)
Maintain attendance requirements set by the team
Annually obtain WFTDA insurance (additional health coverage is recommended)
Bear expense of uniforms, equipment, travel, and dues
Agrees to and adheres to team policies and code of conduct as determined by the Board of Directors and Athletic Committee

Investing in Derby: Costs of membership

The following is a non-exhaustive list of financial commitments when choosing derby. All prices are estimates and ranges.

Initial expenses

These are generally one-time or occasional purchases as gear wears out.

Derby gear (helmet, knee pads, elbow pads, wrist guards, mouth guard): ~ $50 - $110
Skates: ~ $95+
MBRD jerseys (one blue, one black): ~ $85 - $115*

* Homemade/scrimmage jerseys in correct colors perfectly acceptable in lieu of an official jersey!

Recurring expenses

Membership dues: $50/month

WFTDA annual insurance: $80/year (12-month coverage)
Away game expenses (lodging, fuel, food, etc.): Variable, depending on travel plans
General merch, scrimmage fees, equipment upgrades, etc.: Variable, at the discretion of each member

We never want cost to be a barrier to entry for derby.

Dues payment plans available upon request, and are fully confidential.
